YINKA Casal is set to become a Swindon Town player today after protracted transfer talks finally made some progress.

Town have been chasing the left-back from Dutch second tier outfit Cambuur, since an impressive County Ground trial, and a deal is thought to have been thrashed out late last night.

Cambuur are expecting 50,000 euros for the former Fulham youngster while Town want to pay the money in a performance-related fee.

While minor details were still to be finalised as talks continued last night, boss Maurice Malpas was confident he would secure the signing at some stage today.

He said: “We are nearly there with Yinka and I think it will all go through today at some point.

“There are a few things still to sort out, they have different legislation over there than we do, but everything should be okay. We both know the amount of money Yinka will cost but it is just a case of how we pay it.”

Meanwhile Kevin Betsy is still in talks with Bristol City over a potential contract pay-off as Town wait for an answer from the Championship winger.
