ROBINS’ Danish ace Mads Korneliussen skidded to a third place finish in the yesterday’s re-staged European Championship final in Slovenia, writes GARETH MOORHOUSE.
Home favourite Matej Z’agar was crowned champion after collecting 14 points from five rides, but with six riders tied for second, a four-heat race-off was needed to determine the other podium places.
Former Swindon star Sebastian Ulamek came out on top in the race-off, as Korneliussen was forced to settle for second place and third overall.
Earlier, Korneliussen won just one of his five heats on his way to a 10-point meeting haul.
