Westcott Tae Kwon-Do School’s Jessica Bowles picked up a sliver medal in her first competition, just six months after taking up training.
The 12-year-old was the first student from the new club in Swindon to compete in the Welsh UKTA (United Kingdom Tae Kwon-Do Association) Championships.
Having only just achieved her yellow belt, she made a mark in the under 13 category, just missing out on the medals in patterns, but landing silver in the +145cms sparring category.
Meanwhile, Teo Mazzotto has become Stratton Higashi’s newest black belt.
The 18-year-old put a fine performance in front of a grading panel, led by Higashi’s Peter Spanton (8th dan) in London.
