Motor Racing: Spa booster for Synchro

3:00pm Thursday 9th July 2009

SYNCHRO Motorsport continue to chase top spot in class two (green) of the Britcar Production Championship, following the latest round at Spa Francorchamps, Belgium.

The Swindon-based team, which is run by racing enthusiasts at the town’s Honda plant, saw their Honda Civic Type R FN2 finish third in class in the three-hour evening race.

The meeting required that two drivers took part, so regular racer Dave Allan was joined by guest driver Peter Venn to compete in the race.

Synchro Motorsport are taking part in the Britcar Production Championship for the second year running and are starting to establish themselves, as team manager Alyn James explained.

“We had to develop a lot of parts ourselves, but this year we’ve ironed out most of the problems and are competing for the championship,” he said.

The next round of the championship is at Castle Combe on the 8-9 August. Prior to that the team will take their car to a meeting at the Abbey Stadium on Thursday, July 30.
