SWINDON Wildcats player-coach Ryan Aldridge has bolstered his defencsive line by bringing in Coventry back-up netminder Tom Murdy to fill in for the absent Geoff Woolhouse for this weekend’s double-header in the English Premier League.

Originally Aldridge had hoped that Woolhouse would be fit enough for the fixtures against Peterborough Phantoms and Slough Jets, but with Murdy available the Cats’ number one minder has a further week to fully recover from his recent injury.

Oli Lansdowne filled in for Woolhouse last week but Aldridge was wary about throwing him back into the side for another series of crunch fixtures.

“Geoff being absent is just precautionary from our point of view,” said Aldridge.

“Tom’s a good addition to the side and it made sense with the situation as it is at present.”
