Penhill Amateur Boxing Club had mixed results at the weekend with one win and a defeat for their troubles.
At Barton Hilll ABC’s show, Curtis Bowers took on Mason Shaw from King Alfred ABC.
Bowers was up against a more experienced opponent and found it difficult to make any impact, with Shaw winning on a unanimous points decision.
Penhill also travelled to Ebbw Vale in Wales with it’s youngest member Jordan Wall winning his second bout in a row.
Wall’s opponent was Dan Tompkins from the host club and the Penhill man dominated from the first round.
He landed one and two punch combinations to win the opening round but the second was an untidy affair.
However, Wall boxed and moved well to take a unanimous decision.
ABA Coach Simon Knowles said: “Jordan has only just turned 11 and is a great little pospect and will be boxing on our home show.”
Tickets for Penhill’s show on Friday, May 14 at the Premier Club are now on availabe, priced £8.00 prior to the event and £10 on the door. For more information please call 01793 535002.
