MOTOCROSS: Foxhill to host Red Bull Pro Nationals

FOXHILL will play host to the Red Bull Pro Nationals this weekend.

The circuit, which is based on the outskirts of Swindon, is the setting for round eight of the championships - the penultimate of the series.

Racers aged between 10 and 40 will battle it out in their respective classes and, unlike traditional motocross events, the Red Bull Pro Nationals will see professional adult racers compete on the same weekend as the younger riders in a two-day festival atmosphere.

The event will include a motocross try-out area with a qualified instructor and safety equipment for those new to the sport, and crowds will also be treated to stunt shows in between the races.

Local interest comes from British Championship rider Stephen Sword and 15-year-old Team Suzuki GB Youth rider James Dunn, who will be hoping to impress in the Fuchs-Silkolene 2-Stroke 125cc Championship race.

The action runs from 9am-5pm on Saturday, before live music in the evening, and racing starts again at 9am on Sunday to see who will be leading the championship in their respective classes.

An adult ticket for one day is £12, and children under 16 pay £4, or weekend tickets are available costing £20 for adults and £6 for under 16s.
