DIANA Trott carried off the top prize at Swindon Croquet Club’s golf croquet summer tournament after triumphing against chairman Arthur Ingersoll in the final.
Both earned their place in the last two with American block wins over the rest of the field.
Trott won all of her games while Ingersoll tied with John Small but won on ‘who beat who’.
Neil Morrison and Rose Mortimer formed a formidable partnership in the doubles as they won all their matches, while Ingersoll and Bill Marner dropped just one game to take runners-up spot.
Swindon drew 4-4 in a friendly match with Watford Croquet Club recently.
Meanwhile, Swindon’s intermediate team completed their season with a 3-2 defeat at Worcester and a 4-1 win at home to Broadwas.
