JURAJ Rusic is one of two late additions to the Swindon Wildcats squad ahead of the upcoming English Premier League campaign.

The Slovakian winger has signed up at the Link Centre for a third spell and is joined by fellow new boy Danny Williams, who has joined the senior squad as a product of the club’s academy.

A fine passer of the puck, Rusic initially played for Swindon from 2005 to 2007 and has also had spells at Wightlink Raiders, Romford Raiders and Oxford City Stars in recent seasons.

The 30-year-old played a handful of games for the Wildcats in 2009 after signing a short-term contract, and is the fifth import to be snapped up by Swindon this summer.

On his new recruit, head coach Ryan Aldridge said: “As everyone saw last year, he stepped in and did great for us. I’m over the moon to have him in the line-up.

“Obviously because there’s five imports he’s going to be there if we have injuries and will be fighting for a spot. I think it’s a luxury (to have five foreign players) but it’s definitely going to help us.”

On youngster Williams, the boss added: “He is not the biggest player but he plays like a pitbull.

“He never stops working, is strong in the corners and has a good shot. I am sure he will keep players in our line-up on their toes.”

The Wildcats host Slough in a challenge match on Wednesday (face-off 7.30pm) as fans get their first chance to see the new team in action.
