AT least 13 quality bouts have been promised for the Neilson Promotions Semi Pro Fight Night 5, to be held at the Liquid Night Club on Saturday, writes PETER FOLEY.
Dennis Jones and Liverpool’s Sean Mulvihill top the bill when they contest the Neilson Promotions’ heavyweight championship title.
But the undercard also has a number of mouthwatering clashes with the Ringside Gym represented throughout.
Jon Lane aims to make it a hat-trick of wins when he faces Jamie Horn of rival TMA gym in Swindon, who added another victory to his tally at the recent Swindon RAW event.
Matchmaker Mark Neilson describes the 34-year-old cruiserweight as: “The most improved boxer in the gym.”
Former professional Kid Sylvester rolled back the years to gain the decision over Simon Belletti in his return to the ring last April.
Now he looks to add to his tally of wins when he faces Liverpudlian Steve Gallaway in the 11st 6lbs division.
Two light middleweights from the Neilson camp, Sam Lee and Alex Kingsbury, tackle each other and have been given separate training regimes to keep them apart in recent weeks.
At super middleweight, Rich Hall again faces James Fisher after the pair drew in April.
Fitness fanatic Paul Tollafield, who had 16 bouts during his Army days, has his third outing as a semi pro against Birmingham’s Callum Cooper.
Wayne Kemble makes his debut against Swindon RAW heavyweight Wayne Ralph as does Jamie Cooper against Trowbridge’s rival Darren Payne.
A third heavyweight clash completes the bill as Jake Bonner faces Dean Mayo of Swindon RAW.
Profits from the event will be used for a variety of worthy causes including providing funds to Charlie Dawson for the maintenance of his Advanced Wheelchair and Neonatal research in memory of Oscar Freddie Paul.
A further donation will be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund, an ongoing beneficiary from previous Neilson events.
