DAVID Howell will be taking on the Hilversumsche Golf Course at the KLM Open in the Netherlands this week with the aid of a brand new caddy.
Since the departure of trusted favourite Nick Mumford at the turn of the year, Howell has tried his hand with a number of bagmen and women - even asking wife Emily to take the reins for one event in India.
But as the former Ryder Cup star continues to search for form as the year draws to a close, he has enlisted the help of John Muller, after his predecessor Vernon Cook moved to pastures new.
Howell will hope the arrival of Muller heralds a revitalisation of his game as the Broome Manor pro looks to shrug off the after-effects of a miserable second round at the Omega European Masters in the stunning Swiss Alps last week.
A bogey-strewn second-round 74 left Howell well off the pace as he failed to make the cut at the Crans-sur-Sierre course.
The chance for immediate redemption comes at the KLM Open, however, where the Swindon golfer will be up against stiff opposition in the form of Ryder Cup-bound Francesco Molinari as well us European team vice-captain Darren Clarke.
Howell tees off for his opening round at 2pm local time (12noon GMT) alongside Indian Jeev Milkha Singh and James Kingston.
