DORCAN are heading for the national finals of the under 16 schools netball championships.
The Swindon school were losing finalists against Dean Close.
En route to the final, Dorcan saw off Maynard (5-3), Parkstone (6-4), Dean Close (8-7), Truro (9-5), Millfield (9-4) and Bristol (16-2) in the group stages.
In the semi-finals Dorcan beat Heston College 11-4 to progress to the last two.
However, Dorcan’s 100 per cent record in the tournament was ended by Dean Court as the Swindon school lost 8-4.
Lucia Barton praised the efforts of the Dorcan girls, saying: “The girls gave 100 per cent all day and played some fantastic netball.
“Their efforts need to be highly commended. We could not have asked more of them, they were motivated and showed excellent team spirit throughout the day.”
The national finals take place at Basildon on March 17.
