JUSTICE was done as Stefano Episcopi won the Tom Wells Putter competition at Cirencester Golf Club.
The former pilot was leading the event when it was abandoned due to snow in December, but won the event when it was re-staged on January 16 after a three-way tie with Steve Scott-Smith and John Slaven.
Episcopi came out on top after carding a better back nine after all three players ended on 35 points, in the tournament where players are only permitted to use a putter and two other clubs.
Scott-Smith, after recovering from a broken wrist incurred in a fall while playing tennis last August, secured first place in Division Two after a good back nine.
In Division One, no less than four players, Mike Bishop, Dave Collett, Robert Evans and Gordon Stone, finished with 34 points. The count-back separated them with Mike Bishop taking the title with Dave Collett in second place.
Gordon Stone, John Morris, Tony Lester, David Warden and David Purkiss were all only a point or two off the top places but did achieve twos at par threes, as did Clive Bennett.
The Amazing Grace trophy is awarded for the highest scoring player over the age of 80. This was won by Peter Geuley with a commendable 34 stableford points.
