PAOLO Di Canio lavished praise upon the Swindon players and fans after Town booked their place in the final of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy tonight.
Over 10,000 Robins fans braved a cold Tuesday night to watch Town beat Barnet 1-0 for a 2-1 aggregate victory that means they will play Chesterfield at Wembley next month.
A trip to the national stadium is an added bonus in what is proving to be a fantastic season for the club.
"We said at the start of the season that we would take this competition seriously and that's been proved true," said Di Canio.
"It has been a chance for us to improve the winning mentality we have at this football club.
"We have talented players here and they have real desire to win and to progress.
"The fans came here in numbers and I would like to thank them for their support.
"They can go to bed happy tonight because they have a big day at Wembley to look forward to."
Alan Connell's 17th minute goal was enough to decide tonight's encounter as the striker headed home Paul Caddis' fine cross.
"It was a move that we had worked on in training," revealed Di Canio.
"It was very good movement and Caddis put in a very good cross with Connell getting a fantastic header in to score.
"The way we moved the ball is something that we had been concentrating on in training.
"Once again credit to the players for the way they executed the move."
Swindon have been allocated just over 36,000 tickets for the final and have been given the West End of Wembley Stadium.

I saw Wembley a few weeks ago and it's going to be very good to go there as a manager. It is a big technical area so I should have some room! It will be my first time there as a manager and that makes me very proud and very happy.
