CAPTAIN Paul Caddis admitted leading Swindon Town out at Wembley will be one of the highlights of his football career.
The 23-year-old has played Champions League football for boyhood club Celtic and has captained the Scotland U21 side, but after securing Town's place at Wembley the Scot admitted the experience of captaining his side at the national stadium could top the lot.
“Going to Wembley as captain of the club is a fantastic achievement,” he said. “It was great to play in the Champions League for Celtic because I am a Celtic fan, but the thought of leading the side out at Wembley is something else.”
“It will be great, being captain is a real privilege for me, and I have done it before with Scotland U21s. It is different at Swindon because it is a professional club and this is hard to put in to words.
“Wembley is what it is all about, and it is all about English football. It will be an amazing day for everyone at the club and for the fans.”
Caddis set up Alan Connell for the winning goal, but the Scot admitted his side needed to grind out the result in the end.
“It was a real cup tie and it probably wasn’t all that pleasing on the eye. But we will take that," he said.
“I was planning to take a touch but decided to put it in early and Alan has put in a great header to give us the lead.”

Also watching online in Australia early this morning. Not a classic game but great atmosphere came across loud and clear. Wishing the team all the best for Wembley and the rest of the all important league season. Like so many i am so happy to be a STFC fan at this point. COYR

Last week we had the choice of 5 matches all running on different channels at 7-00 am!! Enjoy OZ. but do remember to bring your water wings as it's bluudy wet !!grovesie wrote: Also watching online in Australia early this morning.
