MEHDI Kerrouche is understood to be close to signing on loan for Swindon's local rivals Oxford United.
The striker made a good start to his career at the County Ground with eight goals in the first half of the season.
However, he has been training on his own after falling out of favour under Paolo Di Canio, who confirmed last month that a League Two club was interested in the Algerian.
And Kerrouche is now believed to be on the verge of signing a one-month deal with Oxford.
Should the move go ahead, he will not be allowed to play in the derby match between Swindon and Oxford on March 3.

well if he does go on loan and stays for season hope he scores goals against Shrews, Cheltenham and Southend. That's the only benefit i can see of him going there

Kerrouche to the Pox, surely not! Why are we helping that lot? Bloody daft idea.

Been told its a swap for Constable ! He is moving this way till the end of the season, and were gonna sign him in the summer ?

Can't see a problem. Everyone - including me - goes on about how much bigger and better we are than Oxford, so one player moving from us to them on loan is hardly going to make a big difference. If we go up and Kerrouche helps them to promotion via the play-offs, good luck to them. Both of us playing in a higher division next season can only be a good thing. I bet both clubs would rather have two big derby attendances than not.
