Kerrouche close to Oxford move

MEHDI Kerrouche is understood to be close to signing on loan for Swindon's local rivals Oxford United.

The striker made a good start to his career at the County Ground with eight goals in the first half of the season.

However, he has been training on his own after falling out of favour under Paolo Di Canio, who confirmed last month that a League Two club was interested in the Algerian.

And Kerrouche is now believed to be on the verge of signing a one-month deal with Oxford.

Should the move go ahead, he will not be allowed to play in the derby match between Swindon and Oxford on March 3.

Laugh or cry?

Laugh - especially as their "12th Man Fund" - which is paid by their supporters - is allegedly paying for his wages !!!
.
It's not like they are a rival for us now is it really ?

Dont mind Kerrouche going to any club apart from the Scum at Poxford as i know he is going to score to goals for them and even more so to prove a point and we will be helping that lot clinch a play off place by doing this.

I still rate Kerrouche as a player but he obviously has an attitude problem.

Not a good move in letting him go there and looking on their forum they dont want any player from us. They really are a bunch of morons their fans particulalry after they heard Constable could talk to us and all the abuse they gave him for it.

I hope this move doesnt happen but looks like it will as we probably need to get a few players off the wage list.

Make sure he can't play on march 3,if Paolo don't want him!the lad can't be blamed for going!!!!!!

Mixed feelings about this, same as every one I guess. I just hope he doesn't go there and start banging them in for them. He knows where the goal is even if he has fallen out with Paolo. Thet aren't out of the picture yet. It's not that it's the scum he's gone to, but possible promotion contenders if they put a run together.
On the other hand we have to get the wage bill down and start shipping players out who clearly aren't in Paolo's plans.
COYR!

well if he does go on loan and stays for season hope he scores goals against Shrews, Cheltenham and Southend. That's the only benefit i can see of him going there

Not happy about this i have always liked Kerrouche , even though it is probably time for him to move on i didn't want him to go to a L2 team and noway to the Pox . I do wish him well but the thought of him helping them to a play-off spot is not a nice one and can only hope it's not a softener to bring Constable here he is nowhere near good enough for the Mighty Reds

Problem with that is the only one they play in the next month is Shrews away, otherwise they have a lot of lower-table sides so can only really benefit the Pox...

yeah i know, thats why he'd have to stay longer to be of any real benefit and as you say will prob just help them put a run together and become contenders again. Would be ok if was playing those 3 teams all this month!!

I hope he can't play against us as part of the loan deal.

Don't forget this will free up some wages so that we can get another player on loan ourselves!

I say give Kerrouche another chance! As every body deserves one, look at tevez? he could get the chance to play for Man city again... Anyway If the move goes ahead, its only a 1 month loan

A_Town_Fan says...

Not overly upset about this. He won't be able to play against us and if he starts do really well recall him. He isn't that good and has an attitude problem. More importantly it frees up space on the wage budget to bring in loan players of our own.

Dont know how I feel about this. Kerouche is a very good player and probably one of the best forwards we have at the club, but if they are paying his wages then meh.... One thing is for sure, Kerouche has bigger Bolls than Constable !!!

You could say they are helping us by saving the wages of a player that PDC clearly doesnt want at the club

I cant fault the board up to now they have been incredible in the way they have supported Di canio...BUT if they let Kerrouche go to Oxford scum I will not be happy, why oh why should they let one of our stikers bang in the goals for the scum of the scum?!! INCREDIBLE!!...On loan is even worse because if Kerrouch goes to Oxford then if he had any sense he wouldnt ever set a foot inside Swindon again. JEREMY WRAY do not let he go to oxford, anywhere else i dont care but NOT OXFORD!!!

amadeus says...
10:31am Thu 9 Feb 12

not really bothered, of him going to the scum, as its only a month loan and alltho they are close for a play off place, we will have one the league by then, plus he cant play against us, all tho did like him as a player, but if di canio didnt want him neither do we, as we dont need any one here to up set the flow thats going at the mo, so good luck to the lad.

MK won't be playing for us again so who cares where he goes, he needs offloading.
So what if it's the pox - he isn't good enough for us so they're welcome to our rejects.

That would be quite a U-Turn on the part of PdC wouldn't it? Having previously said "he can stay at Oxford"...unless Constable himself has had a big change of heart. Can't see it happening though.

If he thinks he's out in the cold here, I can't imagine the scum fans wanting a Swindon reject on loan (from their point of view of course). If he doesn't score in the first game or makes a couple of howlers they'll be on him like VD.

Can't see a problem. Everyone - including me - goes on about how much bigger and better we are than Oxford, so one player moving from us to them on loan is hardly going to make a big difference. If we go up and Kerrouche helps them to promotion via the play-offs, good luck to them. Both of us playing in a higher division next season can only be a good thing.
I bet both clubs would rather have two big derby attendances than not.

Ha ha just reading their forum. Outrage already that supporters fund money is going to us to pay his wages. I love it. If he doesn't produce there, I think they'll actually linch him and the board. http://www.yellowsfo

If he goes down there and starts playing well, we can either recall him and use his form, let him stay there and score against other teams around us and taking points off of them, and even better, sell him for loads of the folding stuff at the end of the season.

They are well behind us, and have played more games, so probably won't catch us, and add to that, he will need service from the rest to score, and at the moment, that is not happening.

Wilesy says...
11:21am Thu 9 Feb 12

Paolo has assessed him over 6+ months and has decided his attitude is not good enough, he doesn't train well and doesn't follow orders on match day.

Whilst he is talented he blows very hot and cold and he is clearly not part of Paolo's plans, and Paolo's decision is good enough for me.

The only issue is that he is going to Oxford after the Constable farce, not too happy about that.

I'm more concerned about Crawley at the moment. Their strikers Barnett and new boy Watt scored all 4 the other night, so the loss of Tubbs doesn't look too damaging. Whilst Connell and Benson are working hard and playing very well together they are not as prolific, hope they can put that right soon.

NEWSFLASH, NEWSFLASH

The Irish government have just announced that as of next week all cars in Ireland will now drive on the right side of the road, if this is a success all buses and trucks will follow a week later.

I'll never forget how happy I was when I saw the missus walking down the aisle towards me. My heart was pounding fast and the excitement was unbearable. It seemed to take an age, but eventually there she was beside me.I gave her a cheeky wink, blew her a kiss, and then said those immortal words,

" Get that trolley over here love, they're doing 3 cases of Stella for the price of two"

Was in church the other Sunday and the missus whispers to me,

"I've just done a silent ****, what should I do now"

It was then I told her,

"Put a new battery in your hearing aid"

A man walks into a casino, and sits down at the poker table. As the bets are beginning to be taken, the man suddenly notices two cows, smoking weed in the corner. He abruptly stands up and starts to leave, another player says "Hey man, where are you going, we've just started!" How do they serve alcoholic drinks on Italian cruise ships? - On the rocks

What vegetables do you get with dinner on Italian cruise ships? - Leeks

What's the fastest way to get off an Italian cruise ship? - Follow the captain

When the captain of the ill fated Costa Concordia was asked if he knew where he was going he replied "off course."

So the captain of the Costa Concordia will soon be in the dock. That's more than can be said for his ship.

The Costa Concordia is probably the most expensive thing to go down in Italy since Berlusconi's last hooker.

What's the difference between the Italian economy and the stricken cruise liner Costa Concordia? Nothing - The bottom's dropped out of both.

1:54pm Thu 9 Feb 12

Bivver, totally blown away by that lot, superb.

Paddy and Murphy are on the cruise ship Costa Concordia. (They do get around)

Paddy says, "Its awfully quiet on here tonight"

Murphy says, "Everyone will be in watching the band"

Paddy " There isn't a band playing tonight"

Murphy, " I definitely heard some one say a band on ship"

A man phones the Airfix model shop and asks,

"Do you have a model of an Italian cruise ship"

The guy in the shop says,

"Yes but we only have one left"

So the bloke says,

" Good, can you put it on one side for me please"
