BJARNE Pedersen has been added to the list of star riders that will appear at Swindon’s Bob Kilby Memorial Trophy on Sunday, March 18.
The Dane is preparing for his return to the Grand Prix after qualifying from the GP Challenge and he has also switched Elite League clubs and joined Birmingham in a two-year deal.
He was part of the Eastbourne team that reached the grand final last October, only to miss out to his parent club Poole.
Now he is raring to go for the new season and is delighted to be in Swindon’s opening meeting as he prepares for the New Zealand GP on March 31.
He said: “It will be good to get some competitive racing in before heading to New Zealand and I am pleased to be included in this meeting.
“Swindon is a track I like and it looks like it will be a very tough meeting looking at the riders included.”
Robins co-promoter Gary Patchett said: “Bjarne raised his game last season and proved he is a genuine number one, leading Eastbourne to the grand final and the Knockout Cup final too.
“He always seems to go well at Swindon and was a beaten semi-finalist here in this same event in 2010.”
Tapes go up at 6pm for the meeting and gates open at 4.30pm. Admission is £20 for adults, £15 for concessions, £8 for children aged 11-15 and free for under 11s.
VIP and sponsorship packages are available by calling 07003 921235 or by email enquiries@swindonrobins.co.
