David Howell put in a solid final two rounds to finish tied for 37th at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.
The 36-year-old won the tournament to announce himself on the European Tour in 1999, and while he never looked like repeating his success, he can be pleased with his performance.
The Broome Manor professional made the cut on one under par, but enjoyed an impressive third round as three birdies saw him move to four under, before a final round 71 saw him go five under and pick up €12,500 in prize money.
The overall winner of the tournament was Spain’s Rafael Cabrera-Bello who led from start to finish to end on 18 under par.
