Some sporting fun in Swindon's Parade to get in Olympic spirit
10:22am Thursday 2nd August 2012 in Sport
THE Parade shopping centre is getting in the Olympic spirit with free Sporty Summer Sessions.
Tomorrow and Saturday, from 11am-4pm, everyone can take part in the centre’s ‘International Arena’ in the area outside Debenhams.
On both days there will be a wealth of activities for families to enjoy.
There will be challenges throughout the day for children. Those with a steady hand can take part in the egg and spoon challenge, there will be space hoppers in the arena, a hula hoop contest and sack bouncing.
Everyone who completes at least two challenges will be awarded a certificate and a small prize. For the less sporty, there will be themed craft workshops where peiople can design a medal, a trophy, or a bookmark.
Brian Morris, manager of The Parade, said: “This will surely be a great event because everyone can join in, no matter what their sporting prowess.”
