“PEOPLE have been standing up and taking notice of Swindon this season and hopefully I can add to that.”

Adam Rooney was lured to the County Ground by the impressive results posted by Paolo Di Canio’s Robins during the first month of the current campaign.

The Birmingham striker agreed to a season-long loan move to Wiltshire yesterday and will link up with a Town team both hell-bent on securing promotion from League One and with a happy habit of giant-killing in cup competitions.

Scorelines such as the 3-0 victory over Brighton, the 4-3 success at Stoke and the 3-0 thrashing of Crawley have stood out for Rooney, who admitted it has been impossible to miss the County Ground juggernaut wherever you are in the footballing world this season.

“The midweek win over Stoke caught my eye and it probably caught everyone’s eye,” he said.

“People have been standing up and taking notice of Swindon this season and hopefully I can add to that.

“It came about in the last few days and once I heard of their interest I was keen to come down and get some regular football.”

As part of the deal that brought Rooney to Swindon, former Robins captain Paul Caddis made the switch to Championship side Birmingham - also on loan until the end of the campaign.

Caddis, who had fallen out of favour with Di Canio at the start of the season, said he was relishing the opportunity to compete in England’s second tier.

He told the Blues’ official website: “I'm looking forward to getting started. Birmingham City is a big club and something that I thrive off is playing for big clubs.

“I just hope now that I can settle in quickly. I've played in a lot of high-intensity games so I don't see why I can't come to the npower Championship and do what I do best.”

Meanwhile, Swindon completed the signing of Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Giles Coke on loan until January yesterday evening.

Coke, previously a Town target during the reign of Maurice Malpas, has scored 25 times in more than 200 professional appearances for five clubs in the United Kingdom.

His arrival was only made possible by the departure of Oliver Risser on loan to Stevenage.

Risser will be with Boro until January, at which time the deal could become permanent.
