Its not about wanting him out, practically no one has said that, but no one person is bigger than the club including PDC and he has made some mistakes in his time here and if he wants to be a top manager, he will have to improve his man management that is evident

Den It's a joke and a really sad indictment on some fans who seriously believe that as long as we beat Oxford in the mickey mouse cup all will be rosy again, it truly beggars belief. Don't suppose you caught the guy's name-wasn't Top Secret by any chance was it?

Thank you Chalk, very good account. People forget that Paolo has subbed players very early in matches in the past. I think the difference this time is that it was Wes. If it had been Rooney would there have been such a reaction ? I posted above that as a positive it has given Leigh some very valuable experience. Both are young and will make mistakes, I put Stoke's first goal on Tuesday down to a mistake from Wes. He has to learn from this and I wonder if the bottle kick was annoyance at himself (I hope so). I don't see distance and lack of matches seen as a reason for not posting, please visit the board more often as your input has been quality today. COYMR

Excellent post Bradley and oxon r we have now heard pdc's rant including a cuss or two. We all know that Wray took a huge gamble in appointing him and this and recent affrays with players won't do his cv or the club any good. I backed him 100% re Caddis but I fear he's lost the plot here with Wes. If he was hacked off with the lad's performance wait till half time have a word pull him off and tell him why. JW really needs as others have said to sit down and tell Paolo that these bust ups can't go on. Wes was the primary reason IMO why we won promotion and by miles the best Town keeper I've seen and that includes the two D's. JW must realise Wes is vital to the cause. Given there are no other underlying factors that pre-empted Pdc's rant then I wouldn't blame Wes if he said stuff it and walked away.

PDC came over to the town fans at the end and said Sorry blame me not the players it was his fault.

I found this very humble of the man, and It actually sent a shiver down my spine.

After the game Fods was signing shirts for the fans in the away end which was a nice touch just hope this isnt the end.

Now now, I haven't slated your team, infact I defend them, i have stayed away and given your god and saviour the benefit of the doubt but I knew it wouldn't be long before he went mad. Having been at the game today, I would would agree with much of this post and glad to hear Fods was interacting with the fans.

A few further points to add...

The biggest factor today was a chap called Jeffrey Monakana. What a player. He ripped Town apart and the defence were not up to it. That's why McEverley, McCormack, Fods etc struggled. A good manager would have sorted that problem out as a priority.

If Fods has been showing poor form and bad attitude for a while why has no new keeper been bought? Why did he start today. I've no seen this bad form. he is the best keeper we've had for years. He made one mistake today and credit to the Town fans who got behind him by chanting his name. Shame on an immature, arrogant manager who made a disgraceful decision by bringing him off.

This club is to big for DiCanio. I think it's time he went to one of these Premiership clubs who are desperate for his talents. That would be fine by me.

I mentioned it because it sounded like a number of comments from people on this board with some jumping to conclusions without hearing the full story.

I do not necessarily support the way Paolo does certain things, though it may seem so from some of my posts, but some have been too quick to jump in and say it was wrong, that enough was enough etc.

Wes is a good keeper but is he great ?

Paolo is a good manager but is he great ?

Both are very early into their prospective careers and both have a lot to learn. Do we really want to turn into a set of fans that wants rid of people as soon as they make a mistake.

Probably not a good way of putting things but both have to learn from today and I am happy to give PDC the benefit of the doubt mainly because of the football and success I have witnessed since his arrival.

I am also a bit dubious of the title that has been bestowed on Wes. In some people's eyes there is only one that has that honour at the CG and he has had a stand named after him and played for more than a season to earn it.

I may upset a few with that statement but it is my view and I don't want to see us turn to into Liverpool as we will never make progress by constantly changing our manager.

I mentioned it because it sounded like a number of comments from people on this board with some jumping to conclusions without hearing the full story.

I do not necessarily support the way Paolo does certain things, though it may seem so from some of my posts, but some have been too quick to jump in and say it was wrong, that enough was enough etc.

Wes is a good keeper but is he great ?

Paolo is a good manager but is he great ?

Both are very early into their prospective careers and both have a lot to learn. Do we really want to turn into a set of fans that wants rid of people as soon as they make a mistake.

Probably not a good way of putting things but both have to learn from today and I am happy to give PDC the benefit of the doubt mainly because of the football and success I have witnessed since his arrival.

I am also a bit dubious of the title that has been bestowed on Wes. In some people's eyes there is only one that has that honour at the CG and he has had a stand named after him and played for more than a season to earn it.

I may upset a few with that statement but it is my view and I don't want to see us turn to into Liverpool as we will never make progress by constantly changing our manager.

A poor performance from Town probably an aftermath of Stoke which begs the question why not rotate the team a bit more ?

PDC came over to the town fans at the end and said Sorry blame me not the players it was his fault.

I found this very humble of the man, and It actually sent a shiver down my spine.

After the game Fods was signing shirts for the fans in the away end which was a nice touch just hope this isnt the end.

Only bright spark for me was the introduction of Bostock who did a great job when he came on.

Having been at the game today, I would would agree with much of this post and glad to hear Fods was interacting with the fans.

The biggest factor today was a chap called Jeffrey Monakana. What a player. He ripped Town apart and the defence were not up to it. That's why McEverley, McCormack, Fods etc struggled. A good manager would have sorted that problem out as a priority.

If Fods has been showing poor form and bad attitude for a while why has no new keeper been bought? Why did he start today. I've no seen this bad form. he is the best keeper we've had for years. He made one mistake today and credit to the Town fans who got behind him by chanting his name. Shame on an immature, arrogant manager who made a disgraceful decision by bringing him off.

This club is to big for DiCanio. I think it's time he went to one of these Premiership clubs who are desperate for his talents. That would be fine by me.

This was a wake up call and show the players they do not just have to turn up maybe the win at stoke made them think they are better than they are Preston taught them a lesson lets hope they learn from it.
Di Canio saw this and was angry at their attitude and lack luster performance and i am behind his decisions all the way yes he is hot headed and his passion is amazing
For us fans who went to Stoke his passion at the end was truely something i will never forget.
I wonder to all of you slagging him off on here actually went to Stoke or today?

P D C Was right ,,,,, wes got a bit big headed, thinking he was a cert to have place in the team. He did have a bad game at stoke. but the result covered his performance. Today he had bad ten minutes,,,,, and when he went of the pitch, his attitude was totally out of order... Yes, sorry Oxon. I put that post up a bit too hastily. I do understand the comparison you were making. . I agree entirely with your comments here, but I do remain concerned that PDC is a firework with its blue touchpaper permanently lit. He has us (well, me, at least) constantly on edge, wondering what and when the next explosion will be. I think he just has to rein it in a bit, otherwise we are going to have an endless succession of these fall-outs - and we haven't even reached the first altercation of the season with the FA yet! . You are right of course that Foderingham has a very long way to go before he gets anywhere the legendary status of the great man. However, I also continue to believe that he's the best keeper we've had in the 50 years since I saw my first Town game. Perhaps he was poor today; so was Peter Downsborough occasionally and so was Fraser Digby. I think we would be hard pressed to find a single incident in the history of substitutions anywhere in football where a goalkeeper has been replaced because of poor form when there was just over 20 minutes on the clock. . I very much hope I'm wrong about this but I get the impression that there will be no meeting of minds between Foderingham and Di Canio.

Good post Steve. I was actually expecting a defeat today. Preston are a decent side, rejuvenated by Westley. It was never going to be easy. But I thought it would involve a spirited performance and a hard-fought odd goal defeat, not a tame surrender accompanied by another washing of our dirty laundry in public. Yes, we need to win together and lose together. And I don't see how we can be together if the manager rubbishes his players in public like he did today.
