Robins denied top spot Robins denied top spot

SWINDON Robins boss Alun Rossiter says his side will go into the play-offs with nothing to fear despite missing out on top spot in the Elite League.

Poole’s 47-43 victory away at Birmingham last night means they will finish top of the pile, earning themselves the right to pick their opposition in the play-off semi-finals which begin next week.

Rossiter was watching the televised meeting, but is not concerned by missing out on the pick for the semis.

“When you go into the play-offs you have to beat everyone to win it all, so we are not concerned about who we ride against,” he said.

“At the end of the day we have had a great season at Swindon after two years in the doldrums, and we can be proud of what we have done.

“Now it is all about the play-offs, but we can be confident whoever we face.”

The Robins themselves travel to face the Brummies tomorrow night in their last regular-season meeting before the play-offs, with the home side needing to avoid defeat by 12 points or less to make sure of their own place in the end-of-season shootout.

Peterborough go to Coventry needing a result to take their place in the play-offs, but if they fail Lakeside could sneak in.

If they do make it into the post-season the Panthers could be without new number one Ryan Sullivan, who suffered a suspected broken hand in their loss at Belle Vue last night.

The play off's are looking a little easier now. Pboro are going to struggle to make it with half a team on Weds at Cov so I reckon its going to be Lakeside and Birmingham in. Poole will surely pick Lakeside. Can only see a Poole Swindon final now and if Steady is on it in the away leg then we can win it. We lost by 8 there with him and Doyley having a mare. 6 points+ from both of them added to Pawlicki being out injured and the title is ours!!!

Pawlicki say he will be back for next week but he dislocated his shoulder so may be he maybe only back for the final?

I thought he was having an op which would have ruled him out but maybe not. Still feel confident though if Steady and Doyle up their performance from last Monday.
