How do you know that they are being left out because they questioned training? Power crazy? Don't get me wrong I love Paolo and what he is doing but do believe he is slightly OTT and just look at how many times he was on the pitch today and could easily have got sent off by a harder official. I would like to see Paolo just ease up on the players instead of humiliating them like he did Fods recently. Hard management is fine but there is a fine line to how far a manager should go and my feeling is Paolo is stepping over that line. His touchline antics today confirm that.

You can leave it and move on but I certainly won't. Fans I sit with are getting very worried as much as I am and can't understand why loan players are being picked over players better than them and sat in the stands. I feel for Benson also as he surely should have come on for Collins today before any loan player and is much better than the guy that come on. Loan players are ok for the squad but my feeling is they are certainly not better than Flint Benson and TRH and I would rather see our own players given first choice. Just my opinion and many others I sit by.

He bought a lot last season then another load this time round. And just like last season there has been an early blip. We might all be happy with the progress so far, but he will want to see some consistency both with his 'first' team and the back-up players.

After all there are plenty knockers out there saying it's not too difficult to put together a winning team with all the money he's been given. I think that means we can look forward to further progress as the season develops. I won't complain about that!

People are prob anti rooney just like they were anti Ward basing on one bad performance/mistake. Both are good players, Ward has had a long career at this level and above and Rooney although younger has decent pedigree. I try not to judge a player until i've seen them play at least half a dozen times, Ward was worst cb ever according to some after his debut!!. Great result today, Great for young thompson and Williams to score again. As for Ritchie, a few more thousands on the price tag i'm sure!! If we go up sure he'll be more than happy to stay, not sure if we can keep him if we don't, guy is class.

Agree, can see the cog starting to turn. Thompson as mentioned above deserved MoM and now deserves a proper chance with a good run of games, something sadly Kennedy didn't get. Paolo on the pitch at the end is simply tremendous entertainment..a one off.

RR understand where you are coming from but I don't think you can say ritchie's first goal was lucky - he robbed the defender- then planted an unstoppable shot past the keeper- nowt lucky there lad!

Pdc is rarely totally content is he? - always wanting more-this is what I think gives us the edge because it keeps the players on their toes - and let's be realistic if the oppostion don't get one or two chances in a game they really are bad. If you noted a while ago Paolo actually came out and was slagging at least one player off in the press who was disruptive in training and putting poison in other players minds hence since then Luke Rooney, Flint, Di Vita, have not been seen in the squad and even Ferry has been overlooked, and believe me I would not make this up and there IS UNREST in the dressing room and that comes from a actual Town player. Don't get me wrong I love Paolo and what he is doing but do believe he is slightly OTT and just look at how many times he was on the pitch today and could easily have got sent off by a harder official. I would like to see Paolo just ease up on the players instead of humiliating them like he did Fods recently. Hard management is fine but there is a fine line to how far a manager should go and my feeling is Paolo is stepping over that line. His touchline antics today confirm that.

Of course a player not in the squad will whine and say they are not happy. Just leave it and move on!!!

You can leave it and move on but I certainly won't. Fans I sit with are getting very worried as much as I am and can't understand why loan players are being picked over players better than them and sat in the stands. I feel for Benson also as he surely should have come on for Collins today before any loan player and is much better than the guy that come on. Loan players are ok for the squad but my feeling is they are certainly not better than Flint Benson and TRH and I would rather see our own players given first choice. Just my opinion and many others I sit by.

imo and may I say also backed-up by plenty of other people that sit by me PDC is the best happening at STFC for years - we won 4-0 today and people are still moaning!

Beggars belief - I have read your thoughts to which you are of course entitled too but one (sad) day PDC will leave us and without doubt when this happens the club will be in a far better place and shape than when he joined us .

We might just then return back again to the dark days, not so long ago experienced by STFC, of player power - look where that got us, relegated.

It was an excellent performance on top of the excellent performance on Tuesday away at Portsmouth (did you go to that one either?).

In both matches Miller and Navarro created the platform for the rest of the team to play - whilst snuffing out Bournemouth's attempts to get into the game.

Roberts was also excellent, his build up play and cross for the second goal was top notch.

On what basis do you believe that Flint and TAH would be a formidable pairing? You have probably seen TAH play once or twice, yet PDC sees them in training every day, so he is probably better placed to make the decision.

Yes TAH will probably be excellent, but the manager knows more about football than you or I.

Everyone had a good game yesterday, it was a real team performance.

I think we have a decent chance of beating Burnley but I agree about Austin. Seems to be on fire at the moment. Every inch the striker most of thought he was. I see one bookie has installed him as favourite to be the Championship's leading scorer for the season. Looking forward to the game and to seeing him play. Hope he gets a hat trick and we win 4-3 (again).

Fans I sit with worry....etc----You wanna take some happy pills mate. If all you have to worry about is the less good members of the squad not playing on a Saturday; then you're pretty lucky.

Ritchie and Roberts (are probably) the best two wingers in the league. They get in the team ahead of devita and Rooney.

Flint has been making some mistakes, so got dropped.

yesterday's 11 have won 2 on the bounce, the teams prior didn't win in 5. Perhaps that's why those players are in the team, cos they win football matches. No conspiracy, no power hungry manager, no hate campaign against players because attitude, height or hair colour .....

If you noted a while ago Paolo actually came out and was slagging at least one player off in the press who was disruptive in training and putting poison in other players minds hence since then Luke Rooney, Flint, Di Vita, have not been seen in the squad and even Ferry has been overlooked, and believe me I would not make this up and there IS UNREST in the dressing room and that comes from a actual Town player. Don't get me wrong I love Paolo and what he is doing but do believe he is slightly OTT and just look at how many times he was on the pitch today and could easily have got sent off by a harder official. I would like to see Paolo just ease up on the players instead of humiliating them like he did Fods recently. Hard management is fine but there is a fine line to how far a manager should go and my feeling is Paolo is stepping over that line. His touchline antics today confirm that.

Of course a player not in the squad will whine and say they are not happy. Just leave it and move on!!!

You can leave it and move on but I certainly won't. Fans I sit with are getting very worried as much as I am and can't understand why loan players are being picked over players better than them and sat in the stands. I feel for Benson also as he surely should have come on for Collins today before any loan player and is much better than the guy that come on. Loan players are ok for the squad but my feeling is they are certainly not better than Flint Benson and TRH and I would rather see our own players given first choice. Just my opinion and many others I sit by.

imo and may I say also backed-up by plenty of other people that sit by me PDC is the best happening at STFC for years - we won 4-0 today and people are still moaning!

Beggars belief - I have read your thoughts to which you are of course entitled too but one (sad) day PDC will leave us and without doubt when this happens the club will be in a far better place and shape than when he joined us .

LR there is such a thing a constructive criticism which is not necessary moaning. The river you drove over was the Thames, a bit different to the monster that flow through London !!!

Used to do a bit of fishing, mainly around Abingdon on the Thames(Radley, Clifton Hampden and Oxford), some decent Chub and Bream to be had with the odd Barbel. Stopped due to second child and I miss the fishing and the camaradary (spelling ?), I used to match fish, but not the early starts :-)

Mate at work has friends in Kingston Bagpuize, he refers to it as Kingston Bagpuss :-0

Devon, I don't mean to suggest anyone can't discuss the match because they didn't see it. But I do stand by my view that somebody who sees a game is better informed to comment on it than someone who doesn't. For me, that cannot be in dispute. Perhaps I partly misunderstood LR. I apologise to him if that is the case. But there is no doubting the way he lectures people on their opinions if they differ from his, and there is no doubting that he thinks all players who join our club should love Swindon Town and Paolo Di Canio unconditionally. Life is not like that, and football is part of life. I think LR needs to get the blinkers off and see that wide world out there.

Nice, thanks for that Oxon-Red, i used to swim in the Thames at Lechlade when i was a kid and now live 2mins walk away, not as picturesque as the Thames around Kingston Bagpuize needless to say (great name,i had never heard of it before) i take it the other smaller looking parts of rivers i passed were tributaries then? i hope sometime soon you are able to return to a bit of leisurely fishing mate,most of us have had to stop or at least cut back at some stage,Until recently i used to fish in Lechlade a place called Horseshoe Lake, it allowed me to shot off to the County Ground and watch us play then back to the lake.2 birds with one stone eh!

Steve, The river you drove over was the Thames, a bit different to the monster that flow through London !!! Used to do a bit of fishing, mainly around Abingdon on the Thames(Radley, Clifton Hampden and Oxford), some decent Chub and Bream to be had with the odd Barbel. Stopped due to second child and I miss the fishing and the camaradary (spelling ?), I used to match fish, but not the early starts :-) Mate at work has friends in Kingston Bagpuize, he refers to it as Kingston Bagpuss :-0 COYMR ps Joey I am not from Witney.

35-40 years ago, my parents used to take me and my brothers to a beach on the lower reaches of the Thames at a place called Castle Eaton (thru Lechlade and past Fairford air base). Bit too narrow for swimming but the water was packed full of young trout and despite the water being freezing it was great fun trying to catch the burgers with shrimping nets. Used to swim at Culham and Clifton, no worries about Viels etc in those days :-)

Still have the rods etc in the shed maybe one day !

It was an excellent performance on top of the excellent performance on Tuesday away at Portsmouth (did you go to that one either?).

In both matches Miller and Navarro created the platform for the rest of the team to play - whilst snuffing out Bournemouth's attempts to get into the game.

Roberts was also excellent, his build up play and cross for the second goal was top notch.

On what basis do you believe that Flint and TAH would be a formidable pairing? You have probably seen TAH play once or twice, yet PDC sees them in training every day, so he is probably better placed to make the decision.

Yes TAH will probably be excellent, but the manager knows more about football than you or I.

Only just seen your post. Do you really think I would have passed comment on a game I hadn't attended Castle? I have a round trip of more than100 miles for each home game and I am a long time season ticket holder (and Town supporter for 50 years). I get to a good proportion of away matches too because they are often closer to me than the County Ground. There were some good parts to the game yesterday but it was a long way from perfect. I think you must wear rose tinted specs if you think that was an excellent performance. It was a Curate's egg, good in parts and as I said in my post, some players did have excellent games. I was delighted for Nathan Thompson and Andy Williams. Everyone around me felt exactly the same about Navarro and Miller - Navarro in particular was way too slow and 2 yards off the pace whole game. Roberts can play far better than he did on Saturday, he was not excellent by his own standards. wait until you see him have a truly excellent game and then you will realise the difference. His cross for the second goal seemed to me to be slightly deflected by the defender. Whilst I take your point about PDC's decisions I thought this forum was about expressing our individual views, not just blindly going along with everything PDC does. He is not by his own admission infallible and he still has much to learn. Oh yes, and I will be going on Tuesday night and making the trip to Shrewsbury next Saturday and if my view of those games differs from yours then so be it.

Agree it could have been better at times but I thought Miller bossed the midfield. Also felt Navarro was better than he has been and that Paolo got the subs right.

Collins worked very hard but his touch let him down. This is why, IMO, he was taken off. Simple lay-offs to his team mates weren't happening. He is young and I am sure Paolo will work on this with him.

It was an excellent performance on top of the excellent performance on Tuesday away at Portsmouth (did you go to that one either?). In both matches Miller and Navarro created the platform for the rest of the team to play - whilst snuffing out Bournemouth's attempts to get into the game. Roberts was also excellent, his build up play and cross for the second goal was top notch. On what basis do you believe that Flint and TAH would be a formidable pairing? You have probably seen TAH play once or twice, yet PDC sees them in training every day, so he is probably better placed to make the decision. Yes TAH will probably be excellent, but the manager knows more about football than you or I. Everyone had a good game yesterday, it was a real team performance. Onwards and upwards.

Only just seen your post. Do you really think I would have passed comment on a game I hadn't attended Castle? I have a round trip of more than100 miles for each home game and I am a long time season ticket holder (and Town supporter for 50 years). I get to a good proportion of away matches too because they are often closer to me than the County Ground. There were some good parts to the game yesterday but it was a long way from perfect. I think you must wear rose tinted specs if you think that was an excellent performance. It was a Curate's egg, good in parts and as I said in my post, some players did have excellent games. I was delighted for Nathan Thompson and Andy Williams. Everyone around me felt exactly the same about Navarro and Miller - Navarro in particular was way too slow and 2 yards off the pace whole game. Roberts can play far better than he did on Saturday, he was not excellent by his own standards. wait until you see him have a truly excellent game and then you will realise the difference. His cross for the second goal seemed to me to be slightly deflected by the defender. Whilst I take your point about PDC's decisions I thought this forum was about expressing our individual views, not just blindly going along with everything PDC does. He is not by his own admission infallible and he still has much to learn. Oh yes, and I will be going on Tuesday night and making the trip to Shrewsbury next Saturday and if my view of those games differs from yours then so be it.

Agree it could have been better at times but I thought Miller bossed the midfield. Also felt Navarro was better than he has been and that Paolo got the subs right.

Collins worked very hard but his touch let him down. This is why, IMO, he was taken off. Simple lay-offs to his team mates weren't happening. He is young and I am sure Paolo will work on this with him.

Most of us will be happy if we have performances like that for the rest of the season - I've still got a smile on my face from yesterday and I see no need to pick holes for the sake of it.
