NORTH BERKS LEAGUE: Coleshill move level at the top

COLESHILL United moved level on points at the top of North Berks League Division Two after running out 5-4 winners over Steventon.

Both sides went into the game vying for top spot in the league, and a brace from Shane Blake and goals for Mark Simpkins, Brian Ferris and Richard Evans won the match for Coleshill.

There was a dearth of shocks in the first round of the AG Kingham Cup with the top two sides in Division Three producing the tie of the round as Faringdon Town Reserves beat Childrey United Reserves 4-3 after extra time.

Goals from Josh Ward for Childrey and Jason Evans for Faringdon meant the game ended one apiece after 90 minutes and Tom Weeks’ double was usurped by a Dan Oyston hat-trick to win the match for Faringdon.

Division Two leaders Lambourn Sports Reserves won 3-0 at Division Four Blewbury Reserves with Gary Fisher, Alex Tolley and Keenan Dundas all on the scoresheet.

Faringdon Town won 3-0 at Wootton & Dry Sandford in the second round of the Berks and Bucks Intermediate Cup thanks to goals from Liam Humphreys, Dan Hoskin and Robert Owen.
