WILTSHIRE Ladies claimed the bragging rights as they took revenge for last year’s 10-shot defeat at Trowbridge Westbourne to win this year’s annual showdown against the county men at Supermarine, the home green of 2015 men’s president Richard Gardiner.

Wiltshire Ladies were always in control of this annual clash, finally winning 130-103.

The ladies took the honours on three of the six rinks, drew on another and only lost on two.

Senior vice president Pat Jones, who will be ladies president next season, made use of local knowledge at Supermarine as she skipped her rink to a 21-shot win.

Sue Ochyra (Devizes) led her foursome to a 19-shot success, while Swindon Town Gardens Laura Laytham’s quartet won by five.

Margaret Annetts shared the spoils in her battle with hubby Graham, whose rink included president Gardiner.

Wroughton’s Martin Salter led his men’s quartet to a badly-needed 29-14 success.
