THE forthcoming EIBA national championships being staged in Nottingham and Melton Mowbray will see Westlecot represented in three of the disciplines.

The combination of Josie Lloyd, Wendy Anderson and Janet Willis have reached the final stages (last 16) in two triples events - Over 50s two wood triples and ladies national triples championship.

They contest the former in Nottingham on March 28-29 and the latter at Melton on April 13-14.

Westlecot’s other representation is in the men’s Over 50s triples where Terry Walton, Dave Snell and Mel Biggs carry the club’s hopes of winning a men’s national title for the first time since the indoor section of the club was opened in 1983.

They take to the green in the last 16 at Nottingham on March 28-29.

Snell and Biggs missed out on reaching the last stages (last 16) of another triples national competition last weekend.

With Dave Godwin as lead, they lost in the inter-area final of the men’s national triples, going down 20-10 at Oxford City and County on Sunday to Area 15 winners Michael Knight, Simon Jones and Robert Newman (Whiteknights, Reading).

The Berkshire trio now progress to Melton & District in April.
