SWINDON Town youngster Lee Marshall has been on trial at Championship side Sheffield Wednesday.

The 19-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season, was involved in an under 21 match against Millwall yesterday.

Marshall started the game but was replaced in the second half of the goalless draw by George Hirst.

The midfielder made his Town debut in August 2014 in the success over Luton Town.

He went on to make two further appearances last term and this season Marshall has come off the bench on three occasions - the last in the 0-0 draw at Gillingham.

Meanwhile, midfielder Jake Evans has announced via social media that he has been offered a professional contract with the club.

The second-year scholar made his first appearance in a matchday squad for Town when he was on the bench for the trip to Oldham Athletic, which was followed up by being in the 16 that travelled to Bradford City.

“I have been watching Jake quite a lot in training and in the under 18 fixtures and I talk a lot with Scott (Lindsay) about his squad and get plenty of feedback on a regular basis,” said Town manager Williams, who believes the 17-year-old has a bright future ahead of him, after the Oldham game.

“He has shown lots of qualities and showed that he is a very determined and ambitious young player so I think he has been rewarded with being involved in the first team squad, which is the next step.”
