WILTSHIRE'S national fours championships quarter-finals have been re-arranged for Friday, June 10 at Royal Wootton Bassett after they were rained off on Tuesday night, writes Dave Eaton.

Meanwhile, the quarter-finals in the men’s triples were scheduled to be held at Holt last night.

The quarter-final winners in both the re-arranged fours and last night’s triples progress to the semi-finals at Devizes on Sunday, June 19.

  • THE county senior men’s side will be hoping to emulate the U25 junior side and reach the regional finals in the inter-county double rinks competition.

A superb late surge saw Wiltshire U25s come from 27-20 down to beat Warwickshire 39-31 at Royal Wootton Bassett in their first-round White Rose Trophy double rinks match, booking them a place in the regional finals at Bristol BC (Somerset) on June 19.

The senior side face Somerset on June 12 at Royal Wootton Bassett in the Balcombe Trophy as they look to book their place in the regional final at Clevedon on June 26.

  • ROYAL Wootton Bassett and Westlecot supply two-thirds of the Wiltshire men’s Middleton Cup side named to face Warwickshire next Saturday, June 11 (2pm) at home at Bassett in their first West group match of the season, including new captain Mike Titcombe.

In the Middleton Cup, Wiltshire have a bye in their five-county West group today but then play Warwickshire and Dorset at home at Bassett on successive Saturdays on June 11 and 18.

They conclude their group games with away trips to Worcestershire on June 25 and Somerset on July 9.
