EIGHT members of the Westlecot indoor section competed in the Dolphin (Poole) Open Singles tournament over the Boxing Day holiday period.
Three of them Craig Hatherall plus Neil and Katy Smith had the best run in the Dolphin tournament all going out in round three (last 16).
Neil Smith lost to former ladies world matchplay champion and current England senior and junior international Katherine Rednall (Ipswich).
Nineteen-year-old Katy Smith, lost to Egham’s Ian Jenkins in the last 16.
And Craig Hatherall went out to World U25 qualifier Martin Puckett (Moonfleet, Weymouth).
His father Graham Hatherall eliminated BJ Byles (Whiteknights, Reading) in the preliminary rounds but then fell in the first round to Scott Edwards (Adur, West Sussex).
