SWINDON & District Men’s Bowling Association made it two wins out of two when they defeated Bournemouth & District 113-107 at Fordingbridge last Sunday.

Despite only winning on two of the six rinks and drawing on another the S&D mixed team ran-out 113-107 victors.

Top rink honours went to the S&D officials rink consisting of treasurer Paul Boyles, secretary Pete Stewart, president Roy Major and vice-president Maurice Simpson who won their match by seven shots.

The Swindon rink of Julie Watson, Bob Hiles, Andy Watson and skip Cliff Dennis won by six shots.

The Marlborough rink led by Ken Hedges managed to draw their game 22-22.

However, there were defeats for the rinks skipped by Trevor Durrant (four shots), Mick Kilburn (one) and Graham Clinch (two).

The next scheduled game will Swindon make the trip to Pirrie Park to face Southampton & District on Sunday, June 25.

RESULTS

Rink 1: Emma Payne, Colin Peacock, Robin Haines & Trevor Durrant (all Faringdon) lost to M Flowers 17-21.

Rink 2: Darren Fernandes, Alan Penfold, Marilyn and Mick Kilburn (all Supermarine) lost to F Hawkins 13-14.

Rink 3: Paul Boyles (treasurer), Pete Stewart (secretary), Roy Major (president) & Maurice Simpson (senior vice-president) beat Paul Oakdene 22-15.

Rink 4: Julie Watson, Bob Hiles, Andy Watson & Cliff Dennis (all Swindon BC) beat J Ellis 22-16.

Rink 5: Des Watts, Sue Hedges, Angie Watts & Ken Hedges (all Marlborough) drew with G Snooker 22-22.

Rink 6: Steve Wiltshire, Pat Bevan, Sue and Graham Clinch (all Wroughton) lost to M Denmark 17-19.

Score: Swindon & District BA beat Bournemouth & District BA 113-107.
