WESTLECOT triumphed in all six of their matches to win the annual Swindon Bowls Club Floodlight Tournament.

The team of James Richman, Miles Roberts, Kevin Carter and skip Ray Sowden won all four of their round robin games to top the table and edge out The Ciderheads (Rodbourne Cheney) on shots difference.

In the semi-finals, Westlecot accounted for last season’s winners No More Novices from the host club 13-8.

In the other semi-final, Supermarine’s Penhill Boys raced into a 10-1 lead over unbeaten Rodbourne Cheney, however, the Ciderheads recovered slightly as they eventually lost 12-6.

The final was a very one-sided affair Westlecot ran out 20-5 winners over Penhill Boys.

Organiser Jim O’Leary and Swindon club president Bob Hiles presented the winners’ cheque for £200 to Westlecot and the runners-up prize of £100 to Penhill Boys (Supermarine), while the two losing semi-finalists Ciderheads (Rodbourne Cheney) and No More Novices (Swindon) received £50 each.
