BOTH of Swindon’s indoor clubs return to Wessex League action this weekend and both have been hit by national commitments.

Swindon Manor face Loddon Vale in their third match of the season but for Westlecot their game at Oxford & District is their second.

Manor made a fine start to the 2017/18 campaign with an excellent 83-71 victory over Carterton and collected 14 of the 16 points on offer.

But they failed to build on that win a fortnight ago when surprisingly crashing to a 93-65 defeat against Chipping Norton and missing-out on a trio of successive wins over the Oxfordshire side.

Manor will be looking to bounce back after that Norton defeat when they face Hampshire side Loddon Vale (Basingstoke) tomorrow.

Selectors at the Rodbourne Cheney-based club have made several team changes to the side following their previous outing due to unavailability and national championship games.

Westlecot opened the east region of the Wessex League this season with a hard fought 82-67 win over West Berks.

However, the Old Town club are struggling for players with six of their squad are representing the county in the U25 inter-county double rinks competition tomorrow morning.

EAST FIXTURES West Berks (Newbury) v Chipping Norton; Westlecot v Oxford & District; Loddon Vale (Basingstoke) v Swindon Manor; Carterton v Banbury.
