SWINDON Manor men’s disappointing campaign in the East region of the Wessex League continued as they were beaten by fellow strugglers Rivermead (Reading) last Sunday.

The Rodbourne Cheney-based club went down 80-70 and only collected two of the available 16 points after just one rink win.

Manor have now registered four defeats in a row and fallen down to ninth in the table.

Tomorrow, Manor will look to end their barren run against bottom club Banbury Cross, who have only collected four points from their five games to date.

Meanwhile, the Manor versus Westlecot local derby in the East region that was postponed last weekend has been re-arranged for later this month.

The contest will now take place on January 27, with two rinks being played in Rodbourne and two in Old Town.

Westlecot players dominate the Wiltshire indoor side due to play Devon in the Liberty Trophy – the inter-county championship – today.

Fourteen members are named in the quarter-final line-up for the match at Isca IBC (Exeter).

Westlecot players selected are: Denis Holborow, Craig and Graham Hatherall, Ian Jefferies (skip), Terry Walton, Dave Godwin, Kyle Anderson (skip), Barry Sictorness, Chris Cheesley, Mel Biggs, Mike Titcombe (skip), Tom Pittuck, Phil Gregory and Neil Smith (skip plus team manager).
