RYAN Martin has warned that someone will feel his wrath when he finally gets the all clear to return to the ring.

The 20-year-old light-welterweight has been out of action since making his professional debut in March with an injury to his right hand.

And the former Walcot and England amateur went for an MRI scan on Monday to try and get to the bottom of the problem.

“I thought that I would have got the results that day,” said Martin, who’s only fight to date was a points success over veteran Jason Nesbitt.

“But they said that I’ve got to wait a couple of weeks.

“I just want to know what is wrong with it so that we can start treating it.

“I’m doing a lot of road running and strength and conditioning work at the moment, but I’m just eager to hitting that bag again.

“Once I can start hitting again, someone is going to be in trouble.”

The former junior ABA champion is hoping that he will at least get one outing before the end of the year.

“I’m keeping myself fit, once I can starting hitting again I’ll be ready to fight pretty quickly,” he said.

“I like to give myself a good weeks hard training for a fight and I know that Keith (Mayo, Martin’s manager and promoter) is looking to have a show before the end of the year and if I can get on that I’ll be happy.”

But Martin says that he would be willing travel should he be fit before Mayo’s next show.

“The one thing I have always said when I turned professional is that I have to be 100 per cent to fight,” he said.

“Once I’m ready and if there isn’t a fight in Swindon, then I will go out on the road.”
