Kelvin Young will return to Sheffield at the end of the month to start sparring with IBF and WBA super-middleweight champion Carl Froch.

The Penhill pugilist will be back in action on November 1 in an eight-round contest.

But with the IBO super-middleweight inter-continental champion on course for a shot at the world crown in the new year against Donovan George, trainer Richard Farnan is keen to make sure his charge will be in top condition.

“I have been speaking with Rob McCracken this week and by the end of the month will be sparring with Carl again.” Farnan told the Advertiser.

“Carl is getting back in the gym just to keep himself ticking over.

“But it won’t just be Kelv coming up with me, Tariq (Quaddus) will be there too.

“We are also going back down to Brighton and working with Ronnie Davies and Chris Eubank jr.”

With a world title shot on the horizion for Young, Farnan knows that his 27-year-old must impress.

“This is Kelv’s most important fight, he must win,” the trainer added.
