TARIQ Quaddus has warned Sam Couzens that he has not got a chance of stopping him tomorrow.

The light-heavyweight duo do battle for the British Masters Bronze title at the Hermitage Leisure Centre in Whitwick, Leicestershire.

And the Swindon-based 24-year-old is confident that it will be him and not the former conqueror of Kelvin Young who will have his arm raised in victory.

Couzens, who stopped Penhill’s Young back in May last year before that loss was avenged four months later as the Keith Mayo-managed fighter claimed the Southern Area title, has warned Quaddus that he will end the fight early with an upper cut.

However, the Richard Farnan-trained southpaw says that there is no way that the 28-year-old will be able to connect.

“Every fight of his I have watched I see the upper cut coming a mile off,” Quaddus said. “He has got no chance of stopping me – if anything it will be him getting stopped.

“I’m too fit for him, I’m too strong and too fast, if he thinks that by watching Chris Eubank JR land a couple of upper cuts in sparring is the way to do it then let him think that, he obviously needs the confidence.

“Sam’s not Chris Eubank, he is not as quick or fit as Chris – but he is thinking a good fight.”

Quaddus believes that Couzens’ come-forward style will suit him on Sunday.

Since making his return to the sport in March following a five-and-a-half-year hiatus, Quaddus has had to deal with rugged durable journeyman who have gone into their shells and covered up once they had felt his power.

“It is going to be great to fight someone who is not going to run and hide,” Quaddus said. “I’m not going to go charging in like Sam says he is going to do.

“I’m going to outbox him, I’m going to let him run out of steam, counter him and then look to finish him off.”

With the training now complete, the former England international says that this is the worst time for him once camp has finished and waiting for the fight.

“I hate this bit when you can’t train and you are just waiting – it is boring,” he said. “You are just sat around doing nothing – I’m going to take my frustrations out him on Sunday.

“I know that this is my first title fight, but I can’t think about it like that – it is just another fight.”
