KELVIN Young will be looking to get his career back on track when he makes his return to the ring in the new year.

The Penhill pugilist, who is still searching for a new trainer after parting company with Richard Farnan, will make his first appearance on KM Promotions latest show, in association in with Paddy Fitzpatrick, on Friday, February 13, following his shock defeat in November.

And following that loss Young, despite being in a non-title light-heavyweight contest, was stripped of his IBO super-middleweight inter-continental belt.

Young’s manager Keith Mayo said: “Kelvin Young returns in what will be a massive fight regardless of who he fights.

“His loss last time out was a shock to us all and now that he's been stripped of his inter-continental title too, he is starting from scratch again although we are confident he will bounce back with a bang.”

Mayo is also hopeful of having former Commonwealth Games gold medallist and reigning IBF inter-continental and WBC silver middleweight champion Eamonn O’Kane on the show.

The Northern Irishman has joined forces with Fitzpatrick this autumn and talks are on-going about his appearance.

“At the moment there are a couple of options for Eamonn, but nothing is signed yet,” Fitzpatrick told the Advertiser.

The Ferndale Road trainer is also likely to have his two Swindon pros - cruiserweight Luke Watkins and welterweight Garvey Kelly – on the bill too.

Newly crowned British Masters Bronze light-heavyweight champion Tariq Quaddus and former Walcot and England amateur Ryan Martin are both schedule to appear at the Oasis Leisure Centre.

Former double ABA champion Danny Bharj makes his long awaited debut, two years after signing professionally.

Mayo added: “The undercard is exciting with four popular Swindon boxers in action, plus we have our newly crowned Masters champion Tariq Quaddus, who I am really looking forward to watching again.

“We've also got Danny Bharj finally making his professional debut. His amateur record was amazing and he is a flamboyant switch hitter and we are excited about seeing him in action.”

Tickets cost £35 for unreserved seating and £60 ringside/VIP. Contact Keith Mayo on 07789 890453 or any of the boxers for tickets.
