EAMONN O’Kane will discover his opponent for next month’s show at the Swindon Oasis Leisure Centre tonight.

The Friday, February 13 show will be formally launched at the Old Bank on Wood Street in Old Town this evening (7pm) with the 2010 Commonwealth Games middleweight gold medallist headlining.

The show, which is promoted by Keith Mayo’s KM Promotions, in association with Paddy Fitzpatrick, will be stacked with some of the best boxing talent Swindon has to offer, with rising cruiserweight star Luke Watkins the chief support as he steps up to eight rounds in only his fourth fight.

Kelvin Young will be looking to get his career back on track next month following his shock defeat to Kiril Psonko in November which also cost him his IBO super-middleweight inter-continental title and a potential crack at the world crown.

The Penhill pugilist has since spilt from Richard Farnan following that loss, however, the trainer will have newly-crowned British Masters Bronze light-heavyweight champion Tariq Quaddus in action.

Swindon welterweight newcomers Ryan Martin and Garvey Kelly will both make their third outing in the paid ranks as they move closer to a potential hometown showdown.

Also on the bill is former Walcot amateur Danny Bharj as he finally makes his professional debut after signing forms with Mayo.

Greenbridge Road promoter Mayo said: “This show is in association with Paddy Fitzpatrick which means we have been able to bring in a big name like Eamonn O’Kane to Swindon.

“Eamonn is ranked eighth in the IBF ratings and is a name every boxing fan will know having won gold at the Commonwealth Games, we are delighted to have him.

“And before Eamonn fights we have what I believe is the best undercard I’ve ever had on one of my shows with all six boxers on the hunt and capable of winning British titles down the line.

“From our stable we have Kelvin Young, Tariq Quaddus, Ryan Martin and Danny Bharj and from Paddy Fitzpatrick’s gym we have Luke Watkins and Garvey Kelly.

“We have seven class boxers all fighting at different weight divisions and with a big name like Eamonn and then the majority of the rest coming from Swindon, I think it has the makings of my best show ever.”

Tickets are now available and cost £35 standard and £60 VIP/ringside and can be purchased via any of the boxers, Mayo or from the Oasis Leisure Centre.
