Walcot boxer Jack Hayes is still waiting for his first career win after losing a thriller in Bristol, writes Dave Veysey.
In what was his second contest, Hayes faced Declan Fisher from the Western Warriors in a light welterweight clash.
From the outset the taller Fisher used his reach advantage, landing constant left jabs as Hayes advanced, taking the opening round.
The Commonweal pupil bravely kept coming forward and found some success on the counter during the middle session, which was a much closer affair.
The last two minutes saw both teenagers give their all in non-stop attack, and at the final bell Fisher was awarded a unanimous points victory.
Walcot chief coach Harry Scott said: “Jack has given away height and reach to Fisher but he manfully stuck to his task for the entire contest.”
