CIRENCESTER ABC duo Tommy Varey and Dave Davis both went down to defeat at a recent show in Devizes.
Varey was pitted against Frankie Gregory, from Tadley ABC, and tried to make his mark but found it difficult to land punches against his taller opponent, who eventually won on a majority points decision.
Next up was 57kg junior Dave Davis, who took on Gloves ABC’s Tyler Stanley in an all-action bout.
Stanley caught Davis with the cleaner punches throughout the bout, including a straight right hand that resulted in Davis taking a standing count, and took the win on a unanimous points decision.
Davis had previously been named boxer of the night when he fought at Merlin Bridge in Wales in late March.
Cirencester’s Johnny Varey extended his unbeaten run to a seventh straight win at the same show.
