EAMONN O'Kane says that he will not look beyond the undefeated Lewis Taylor as he looks to move closer to a dream world title shot.

The Paddy Fitzpatrick-trained middleweight put his IBF inter-continental belt on the line at the Lavey Sports Arena tonight in a fight that could move him up to number three in the world.

And as he returns to Northern Ireland for his second bout with the Ferndale Road coach, O'Kane knows what he has to do.

"I’m looking forward to doing a good job on May 2 - what a night for boxing, Mayweather-Pacquaio and me against Lewis Taylor for the IBF inter-continental title" O'Kane said.

"I’m ready for two 12 rounds fights. I’m not focused on (the IBF rankings) it is just about getting the win and putting the performance together that we want to put together.

"Everything else will fall into place after that."

In his last contest, O'Kane went to war with Hungarian Ferenc Hafner in a bout that had seven knockdowns - one for the Northern Irishman - before it was stopped in the fourth round at the Oasis Leisure Centre.

But the 2010 Commonwealth Games gold medallist wants to show a different side his boxing this evening in front of his home crowd.

"I wanted to box smart - nice and clean," O'Kane said. "He (Hafner) threw a spanner in the works and I had to trade.

"He was a dangerous opponent, but I think we definitely stuck to the cleaner boxing.

"It is a matter of continuing the work that we have been doing, the smart work that Paddy has been putting me through."
