GARVEY Kelly got his career back on track in Northern Ireland last night with a fifth round stoppage of Gabor Feher.

The 26-year-old welterweight from Swindon was looking to bounce back from a shock defeat to Faheem Khan in his last outing in February.

And the Paddy Fitzpatrick-trained boxer went to work on the 19-year-old Hungarian before the referee stepped in to halt proceedings in the penultimate round to secure his third win, his first inside the distance, in his fourth fight.

Meanwhile, Kelly's Ferndale Road training mate Eamonn O'Kane kept his world title dreams alive with a majority decision over the previously unbeaten Lewis Taylor.

With his IBF middleweight inter-continental title on the line at the Lavey Sports Arena, the 2010 Commonwealth Games gold medalist was given the nod on two of the judges scorecards, 116-112 and 115-113, with the judge scoring it a 114-114 draw.

However, the Fitzpatrick trained warrior, who is now likely to move to up to number three in the IBF middleweight rankings with this success, had to overcome a cut over the right eye after a clash of heads in the fifth.
