RYAN Martin and Danny Bharj have confirmed that they will be trained by Richard Farnan on a permanent basis.

The former Walcot and England amateur duo teamed up with Farnan at the start of the training camp ahead of last weekend’s fights in Gloucester as regular coach Islan Eltuyev was out of the country.

Although Eltuyev was back in the UK before Martin and Bharj’s fights, the pair opted to remain with Farnan for the duration of the camp.

Both men put on impressive displays in Gloucester. Bharj securing a shut-out points win over durable veteran Ibrar Riyaz and Martin a stunning second round knock-out performance against Linas Mestavicius.

They have now decided that Farnan will remain in their corner.

“Ryan and me went back to the gym on Tuesday,” Bharj said. “We will be working with Rich again, the last camp went brilliantly.”

Both fighters paid tribute to Eltuyev for all the work that he had done with the pair earlier in their careers.

“Islan has trained me since I was a kid,” Bharj said. “I’m really grateful for all the work and time he has put in.

“I will probably work with him again in the future. I learnt a lot from him, he has a lot experience and had over 300 fights in Russia.”

Martin added: “I can’t thank Islan enough for the work he done with me.

“He trained me for my first four fights as a professional and I will always be grateful to him.”
