WALCOT ABC’s fighters were out in force for their club’s home show at Supermarine.

Four skills bouts got the evening under way, Levi Wilson, Sadie Harris, AIden Penney and Bill Bond all impressing, Bond earning the Walcot boxer of the night accolade.

First up in the boxing contests was Kyran Rouse against last-minute opponent Stephen Gilheaney, of Yate ABC, who managed to take the decision to points.

Sammy Harris was involved in a brutal contest against Owen Heard, of Trowbridge, which went to a split decision in favour of the visiting boxer.

Against Ajay Desmond Stockford, of Blackbird Leys, Alex Master battled through in the third round, both fighters suffering a head clash which affected the rest of the fight.

Taylor Kelly boxed well against Amy Newton, who she had previously had a skills bout with last year, but a standing count cost her the decision.

Bill Harris fought Kiaran Dotton for the second time in two weeks, but unlike his previous split-decision triumph, the Frome fighter edged a split decision with the judges on this occasion.

Nigel Harris performed well against Joseph Gaulm but lost out on the judges’ decision.

Tony ‘Magic’ Mujic was against another taller opponent, giving away height and reach to Jamie Chapel, of Yate ABC.

But Mujic’s speed and footwork got under his opponent’s guard, his work rate and accuracy giving Walcot its first big win of the night.

Making their their debuts were Saahil Shiraz and Antonio Messi, who was up against Jack Ayliffe, of Torbay, the referee having no choice but to halt the contest early in favour of the Swindon boxer after a thunderous five-punch combination.

Bobby Bharj lost out to a strong southpaw in Brett Norman, of Kings ABC.

Headliner Tommy Stokes did battle against Max Bailey, of Gloucester, doing well to push inside of his opponent’s range.
