AMATEUR BOXING: Bond has a licence to thrill
WALCOT boxer Bill Bond impressed a home Stonebridge ABC crowd has he fought in a skills bout at the Willesdon Sports Centre, Wembley, at the weekend.
Meanwhile, Nigel Harris faces a boxer from St Mary's ABC, which the Walcot fighter lost on a unanimous points decision.
Harris was frustrated in a tough opening round and the reach of his opponent in the second round ensured the visitor remained under pressure and consequently lost.
Hughes said: "I'm proud of both boxers and felt that Nigel's contest was closer than how the judges scored."
