PENHILL Amateur Boxing Club had mixed fortunes in Newport on Friday.
Making his ring debut, Jordan Wall squared up to Lee Appleby from Alwaye ABC.
Wall dominated from the first round, catching the Welsh boy with clean punches to the head.
In the second round Wall upped his game, pilling on the pressure and finding his range perfectly.
This was the pattern through the third round also with Wall winning on a unanimous points verdict.
Next up was Louis Trinder who met Welsh European Schoolboy Champion and Welsh number one Ricky Rowlands.
First round saw Rowlands landing the better shots with Trinder battling back gamely in the second.
In the thrd round Trinder upped his pace in a highly-charged round with Rowlands taking the decision.
Luvson D'Costa was up against Craig Woodruff from Alwaye ABC.
In the first round Woodruff landed the better punches and used his height to great advantage.
D'Costa found it difficult to get into the bout and lacked his usual motivation, and the Alwaye fighter took the decision.
ABA coach Simon Knowles said: “Jordan boxed brilliantly for his first bout.
“Louis boxed the best pound-for-pound boy in Wales who holds a number of titles. The bout speaks for itself.
“Luvson wasn't even at the races as the saying goes. He knows he can box a lot better.”
