Cox gains points win

7:19pm Saturday 13th February 2010

JAMIE Cox remains unbeaten after a narrow points victory over Michael Frontin at Wembley Arena tonight.

The Swindon southpaw picked up the 14th win of his professional career with a 78-76 margin going in his favour.

However, it was far from easy for the Commonwealth Games gold medallist.

Cox was bloodied above his left eye, a wound which required six stitches after the bout, as he faced one of the stiffest tests of his career to date.

After the fight, Cox's trainer Paddy Fitzpatrick conceded his charge had been far from his best.

"I'd give Jamie a five out of 10 for this performance," he said.

"But it's a lesson we'll learn from and talk about before the next fight."
