BRAD Dawson, the former Goatacre skipper has returned to the club where he played his colts cricket, Chippenham CC.
Dawson, who has spent the last nine seasons with Goatacre has rejoined the club where he, and Hampshire star brother Liam, played their youth cricket.
Last season Dawson hit 522 runs at 18.64 for Premier Two Goatacre whilst taking 49 wickets at 17.33. The 20-year-old led the Goats to a mid-table finish.
Chippenham captain Lee Ward believes the signing of Dawson shows the intent of his side to challenge for the Premier Two title.
He said: “I think it all shows how ambitious we are – we want to challenge for the title next season.”
“We’re trying to change things at the club and we don’t want to be a mid-table side or a side battling against relegation.”
