LECHLADE will be hoping to continue their fine start to the season when they play host to Thornbury tomorrow.

Joe Breet’s side have won three of their opening four games which has seen them rise to second in the league, just four points off the summit.

Despite the impressive form for the newly promoted side they will not be taking Thornbury lightly this weekend.

“We’re lucky enough to get off to a good win against Cheltenham and went on from there,” said Breet.

“We had a bit of a wake-up call against Potterne, but since then the boys have eased into their roles within the team and everybody knows what is expected of them.

“We are playing some good cricket at the moment.

“I know Thornbury are traditionally quite a good side and they normally end up in the top half of the table.

“It is one of the sides we are not taking lightly, and we have had a really good training session on Wednesday and spoke about the plans we want to execute so the boys are prepared well.”

Potterne, the only side to inflict defeat on Lechlade this season, sit in top spot above the the Manor Ground side, but Breet is not concerned about the teams around them.

“To be honest we don’t really compare ourselves, or look at what they are doing,” he added.

“We just try to do what we do and take it game by game.

“That is the way we have played our cricket over the last few years and that has what has made us successful.”
