LECHLADE will be returning to the drawing board as they look to get their season back on track.

Joe Breet’s side lost their third game of the season, and second on the bounce, as they suffered a last-over defeat to struggling Chard last weekend.

Despite their dip in form and loss of some key senior players, Breet believes the club is in a strong position as they have been given the chance to blood some young talent.

“We lost a couple of senior guys and have got a lot of young guys in the team at the moment,” said the Lechlade skipper.

“Those guys have done well, so the club is in a good position in terms of young talent coming through but now it’s about finding that bit of consistency.

“We were disappointed with the last result and we will go back to the drawing board to work out why it didn’t quite happen but we won’t be doing anything too drastic.”

Lechlade face a tough weekend as they play host to table-toppers Taunton at the Manor Ground, but despite the visitors having not yet tasted defeat, Breet says that his team will go into the game with no fear.

“They are obviously a good side given their league position but we don’t really fear anyone,” added the captain.

“I don’t think anyone in this division is above us talent wise.

“We’ve already proven we’re a match for anyone, so it’s a case of concentrating on ourselves and trying to make sure we put it all together on the day.

“We know what we would do at home if we won the toss as we know what the conditions tend to do.

“So that does give us a bit of an advantage but you still have to bat, bowl and field well on the day if you are going to get the result.”
